Renewed Capabilities · Empowering Innovation
Focused on preclinical testing for medical devices, EastPoint Innovation Center delivers robust client services, continuously upgrades research infrastructure, and strengthens the foundation for innovation. To further enhance our one-stop preclinical CRO service offering, expand service capacity and project scope, and improve assay precision and research enablement, EastPoint Innovation Center has recently completed upgrades to its three core platforms: expansion of the large animal facility, commissioning of a high-end interventional imaging system, and addition of advanced ophthalmic testing capabilities.
01 Large Animal Facility Expansion: Building a Standardized Research Infrastructure
The standardized large animal housing area has been expanded, doubling the available cage capacity. In strict accordance with AAALAC guidelines, supporting systems for animal husbandry, environmental control and biocontainment have been comprehensively optimized.
The expansion significantly increases space for large animal housing and experimentation and optimizes functional zoning. Layouts for housing areas, procedure zones, preparation rooms, clean areas and treatment zones are standardized to substantially boost facility throughput and project turnaround. The platform can reliably perform long-term housing, disease modeling, in-life follow-up and observational studies in swine, sheep, dogs and non-human primates. Adequate space supports parallel execution of multiple research projects, effectively resolving site and workflow bottlenecks for long-term efficacy and safety evaluation studies of innovative medical devices.
The newly upgraded environmental biocontainment system enables precise real-time control of environmental parameters, eliminating confounding environmental variables that may interfere with experimental data. All study procedures are fully compliant and traceable, meeting stringent regulatory requirements for medical device submissions across diverse clinical scenarios.
02 New DSA System Commissioned to Boost Precision Research Capabilities
To fill the gap in high-end preclinical evaluation for interventional devices and improve the precision of brain-computer interface and vascular interventional studies, EastPoint Innovation Center has installed a new high-end digital subtraction angiography (DSA) system — Philips Azurion 5M20. Together with the existing Philips Azurion 3M15, the system is now fully operational. This hardware suite provides robust support for the R&D and evaluation of cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, peripheral vascular and neurointerventional devices, consolidating EastPoint Innovation Center’s leading position among domestic large animal preclinical platforms.

03 Expanded Testing Capabilities to Achieve Full-Spectrum Ophthalmic Coverage
To meet R&D validation demands for ophthalmic products, we have added two Carl Zeiss OPMI LUMERA 300S surgical microscopes and one Carl Zeiss VISULAS Trion multi-wavelength laser system. These instruments enable centralized ophthalmic research and increased study throughput. The expanded test portfolio covers core services including safety evaluation, biocompatibility testing, functional verification and ophthalmic endpoint assessment in animal models. The platform accommodates preclinical testing of ophthalmic devices targeting the cornea, lens, fundus, lacrimal duct and other ocular tissues.
EastPoint Innovation Center has established a full-spectrum large animal evaluation system for ophthalmology. We provide integrated, full-cycle preclinical research solutions for partners, precisely supporting innovative ophthalmic devices from early-stage R&D, in vivo animal studies, performance verification through data compilation for regulatory submission.

Our current instrument fleet includes:
• 2 DSA systems: Philips Azurion 5M20 & Philips Azurion 3M15
• 2 ultrasound systems: Philips EPIQ CVxi flagship ultrasound & portable domestic ultrasound
• 1 CT scanner: Philips Incisive 256-slice CT
• Ophthalmic surgical systems: Alcon Constellation phacoemulsification system, 3 surgical microscopes
• 12-lead ECG, dozens of ventilated anesthesia machines and complete emergency resuscitation equipment
Backed by this comprehensive hardware matrix, our daily surgical capacity can exceed 200 procedures.
The large animal facility expansion and full upgrade of testing capabilities represent key initiatives to strengthen EastPoint Innovation Centerl’s core competitiveness as a large-animal CRO provider. This milestone marks the launch of our new five-year strategic phase. Moving forward, we will continue to focus on preclinical medical device research, further upgrade infrastructure, optimize management systems and expand technical service categories. Guided by compliance, we deliver efficient, comprehensive and reliable one-stop preclinical CRO solutions through standardized study environments, state-of-the-art research equipment and specialized technical services. We strive to accelerate high-quality R&D and market translation of innovative medical devices for domestic and global partners.
