On the morning of May 26, 2023, the Second China (Linping) International Pharmaceutical Source Innovation Conference commenced successfully in Linping, Hangzhou. In the afternoon, at the EastPoint Innovation Branch, the Linping Biomedical Engineering Innovation Center was inaugurated and set into motion. Chen Rugen, Secretary of the Linping District Committee, Bian Jikun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the Linping National Economic and Technological Development Zone, along with relevant leaders from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, the Zhejiang Provincial Drug Administration, the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and the Zhejiang Provincial Office of Experimental Animal Management,attended the opening ceremony  and delivered insightful speeches.

During the launch event, Secretary Chen Rugen of the Linping District Committee addressed the audience, emphasizing the district's commitment to the high-level construction goal of "Digital Intelligence Linping · Quality Urban Area." He highlighted the district's focus on the development of the biopharmaceutical industry and its proactive support for industry innovation and empowerment platforms. The aim is to establish a comprehensive research and innovation environment for enterprises while providing robust policy support for industries. With the completion of this platform, not only will it efficiently and comprehensively empower investment in Linping District, but it will also spearhead the transformation of Linping District into an innovative and appealing "medical device innovation park."

Following the launch ceremony, all guests were guided to tour the facility spanning 6000m², including common and barrier-level breeding areas covering 3000m², and the surgical area. They visited specialized operating rooms for interventional catheters, surgery, and ophthalmology, as well as examination facilities such as CT, MRI, and color ultrasound. Auxiliary facilities such as anesthesia, anatomy, animal ICU, treatment rooms, and analysis and testing laboratories for animal biochemistry, pathology, and medical materials were also explored.

Subsequently, medical device innovation forums and project promotion meetings were held in the academic exchange area and technical training area, respectively. At the Innovation Forum, renowned domestic and international experts and scholars delivered keynote speeches on topics such as "Guidelines for preclinical animal trial design of medical devices," "Considerations for preclinical animal trial design," "Model animals and disease models," and "Design and operation of ophthalmic device experimental animal trials." The event garnered significant interest from attendees, who expressed appreciation for the invaluable insights gained. The project promotion meeting showcased investment policies of the development zone and introduced the latest technologies and products by research and development enterprises to investment institutions. Both sides engaged in fruitful discussions on the innovative applications and prospects of medical devices, fostering confidence in the industry's innovative future.

The successful launch and operation of the independent third-party service platform for innovative technology-driven medical device research and development, built in compliance with GLP, AAALAC specifications, and ISO 17025 standards, signify a significant milestone. EastPoint Innovation is poised to uphold the principle of "accelerating scientific transformation from point to surface" and provide personalized integrated services, including medical device function and safety evaluation, biological evaluation, laboratory analysis, clinical research, innovative technology training, and international exchange, to medical device production and development enterprises. This includes comprehensive support from preclinical to clinical research and registration consultation.
